Paper Poemは、イタリアを拠点にするイラストレーター・Chiaraさんが手がけるステーショナリーブランド。ポストカードやスタンプといった文房具だけでなく、さまざまな動物を模した陶器の置物も作っています。彼女が描く妖精や植物、動物などの姿は、繊細なタッチや落ち着いたカラーリングが美しく、幻想的な世界に飲み込まれてしまいそうに。アンティークのような雰囲気を纏った作品は、どこか懐かしさも感じさせます。
◆ 作品づくりをはじめたきっかけを教えてください！
I have always been fascinated by journaling and nature. I love the way they allow us to notice and try to classify the passage of time while feeling present within it. Here in Italy, a love for this type of stationery was practically absent, so I decided to create with my own hands what I could: illustrating, telling stories, and giving form to the small everyday things that, to me, held that sense of delicacy and elusiveness that I call magic. Trying to give shape to the ephemeral is the best way to connect with the world and with myself. My very first stamp depicted the flight of two swallows.
